August 21, 2015

Hi all.  I have a few cards to show you and one for the Imagine That Digi Stamps design team inspiration.  The first card is just that.  The set is called Chef Freddy.  I colored the image with alcohol markers but put him on the inside of the card.  For the outside of the card, I cut some circles and framed him so his face showed through the frame.  I used some of the designer paper from the set and added a die cut happy birthday and a bow on the top.  The sentiment on the inside is from the set.

My next card is an Oriental one that I did with embossing paste and a brass stencil.  I used white paste and Inktense blocks to scrape some black and some red color so that I could emboss with 2 different colors.   This was one of my first attempts at stencil embossing.  I am really pleased  with  the way it turned out.  The Kanji symbol means love.  For the background, I did another new technique where I dry embossed the black background with an Oriental design and covered the debossed side with silver Gelato and got the great metal effect.  I used red embroidery thread to finish it off.

The last card that I am showcasing is made from a Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA) piece that I did.  I tangled in the digi image, cut out the larger heart shape and mounted it on a black tile (card stock).  I punched the design and added some black paper behind the punched front and the black bow on top.   I realized that I have so many Zentangle projects that I really didn't know what to do with so I thought I would make some of them in to cards.

Some New Cards

This first card was done with stencils, quilling and a die cut.  I used some home made stencils and Misting sprays for the background.  I quilled the grapes and die cut the thank you.

The next card was made with a doily, a heat embossed lace stamp and some paper circles.
I started to make this a couple of years ago and finally got around to finishing it into a card.  I am trying to use what I have started...

I have entered the 2 cards, above, in the

New Cards

Hi all.  Today I am showcasing Imagine That Digi Stamps "Goin' Buggy" set.  There are so many cute bugs, I didn't know which one to pick.  Aren't they the most adorable faces?  I decided to choose the grasshopper and put him in a jar with some leaves.  After coloring with alcohol markers and
pens, I cut the image out and popped it on some of the "Goin' Buggy" digi paper along with a
piece of card stock to help the jar stand out.

Unfortunately, the color didn't turn out right on the sentiment.  It actually matches the paper.
I used a combination of ping and white outline stamps to make my image.

I have entered this card in the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

August Already...?

Hi all.  I can't believe it is already August.  I was in the hospital on July 1, for 5 days.  Since I have been out, I have been a crazy card making machine.  I will not post them all on here, but I will just add a few.  The most important one is the Imagine That Digi Stamps DOTM challenge card.   The theme this month is Beach Girls.  Girls just want to have fun and that is just what I did!  I used the water DP from the Beach Combers Digi Papers and used torn paper that I distressed and used a sand stamp to make the beach.  All of the elements were colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut and either glued or pop dotted onto the base.  The surfboard and umbrella pole were inserted into slits in the paper.

If you would like to play along with us and our Digi of the Month challenge, be sure to check out the site above for information and a chance to win a free set.

Here are a few more that I have been working on during the past few weeks...

Remember to play our progressive challenge.  Submissions must be in by the 28th of August in order to be eligible for a free set.
